This abstract brooch is part of our recent series titled ”Chewed Up & Spit Out,” speaking to the frustrations of modern life. It is constructed incorporating a section of a vintage saddle shoe sole, our own cast ”Gem” (bubble gum cast inside epoxy resin) and cold connected to a metal fabrication in sterling silver and nickel silver, suggesting the before and after effects of sweet gum being squashed..
